We want to acknowledge Helene Blowers who created the original 23 things (Learning 2.0) and Minnesota Library Association’s 23 Framework things. This version was inspired by the Framework version.
The 16 things curriculum uses the Generative AI Proficiencies document developed by members of William & Mary’s AACU Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum: Lori Jacobson (chair), Candice Benjes-Small, Mark Deming, Joshua Ehrlich, Lindy Johnson, and Katalin Wargo.
Generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, were used to support development of the things. All content was reviewed and modified by the project team.
Some content was adapted from the Generative AI for College Students Microcourse created by Amber Willenborg, Tessa Withorn, Tim Johnson, and Jason Zahrndt at the University of Louisville, and is licensed under CC-BY NC 4.0
Thank you to William & Mary Libraries for providing the prizes.
Thank you to our colleagues across campus for supporting this project, including Liz Bellamy, Isabel Elizalde, Windy Hart, Louis Hubert, and Kristy Walker. Thank you to Cynthia Vinson in particular for providing user testing.
